Jack Bonneval, 7, killed his first eastern turkey in Union Church, Miss.
“It was just Jack and myself. I was able to call this gobbler in close and as I explained to him everything else (decision) was on him to make. We had a deal that if I saw a bird before him I would give a single hand gesture that a bird was near, all other decisions were on him. Well lo and behold we heard a bird respond and shortly thereafter I spotted a mature gobbler easing toward our decoy. I did not move again. I saw the barrel of his 20 gauge ducks unlimited slowly start moving in the direction of the turkey slowly to the left then to the right lining up the shot. He squeezed the trigger dropping the bird in his tracks. An absolute awesome hunt for my grandson’s first turkey.”
