Officials with the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources (MDMR) announced that the recreational fishing season for gray triggerfish (Balistes capriscus) will open in Mississippi territorial waters on Friday, Aug. 1, 2025, at 12:01 a.m. local time.
MDMR officials also announced the closing of the commercial fishing season for spotted seatrout (Cynoscion nebulosus) in Mississippi territorial waters at 11:59 p.m. local time on Friday, Aug. 1, 2025.
