The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP) is pleased to announce the grand re-opening of Paul B. Johnson State Park in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Join them March 26, starting at 8 a.m., for a social at the lodge, followed by a special program. At the conclusion, guests will have the opportunity to tour the new cabins and campground.
Paul B. Johnson State Park now features 129 newly updated campsites for RV camping. Each RV campsite offers full hookups including water, electricity, and sewer, as well as a picnic table and grill, giving campers everything they need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. These new amenities make Paul B. Johnson State Park the ideal destination for RV campers to enjoy Mississippi’s great outdoors.
In addition to the updated campsites, Paul B. Johnson State Park also has 12 newly renovated cabins and two duplexes. Each newly renovated cabin includes all new stainless steel kitchen appliances (refrigerator, stove, microwave, coffee station), all new dining area with solid surface countertops, all new living room furniture with a flatscreen and satellite TV, all new bedroom furniture and bathrooms with new walk-in tile shower. The duplexes also include all new outdoor porch with picnic table, fire pit, and grill, and all new screened in back porch with outdoor furniture.
Paul B. Johnson State Park also has other new renovations and amenities such as two bathhouses, day-use restroom, group camp bathhouse, and new A/C units in various places around the park.

Guests can enjoy weekend long activities at the park such as fishing, boating, day-use area including playground, nature trail, disc golf, and tennis courts. Entry fee to the park is $2.00 per person and children ages 5 and under are free.
