Chasing shad and falling water yields big results

Crappie fishing guide Aaron Barton recently went on a scouting mission with a fish fry side quest on Enid Lake. Barton fished shad on jugs in 6-20 feet of water and pulled crankbaits in deep flats off the channel.

“Water levels are rapidly falling as the Corps of Engineers prepare to lower the flood control reservoirs to winter pool. The fish sense this and start relating more heavily to creeks, ditches, the old river channel and any shallow to deep water corridor.”
