Jared Hester won the first round of the MS-Sortsman.com Trail Cam Contest for his infrared photo of a huge Lamar County buck showing off at least 11 points.
“(The p)ic was taken on the Mississippi River,” Hester wrote about his “Hit List” image. “Cant wait for opening day.”
There has been no word of the buck falling, yet.
Hester, known on the Web site as “jhester,” will receive a free one-year subscription to Mississippi Sportsman magazine and an Official Sportsman Gear prize pack. His image also will move on to the final voting round to be held in February.
His image beat out five other images, receiving 44 percent of the votes cast.
Voting will continue, with the next session being held in early November to choose a winner from among the trail cam photos entered into the contest in October.
