Beginning on Oct. 1, all boaters on Barnett Reservoir near Jackson will have to pay a user fee, either by purchase of an annual permit (boat sticker) or a 10-day pass. The move was taken by reservoir officials to raise revenues badly needed for aging boating infrastructure on the 50-year-old lake.
